Ryerson University in downtown Toronto was the location for one of Canadas historical tournaments of Brazillian Jiu-jitsu.

The first ever Copa Ontario of Jiu-jitsu had an all star referee and guest list and went down as one of the countries top jiu-jitsu tournaments.

Amongst the event guest referees and guests were Saulo and Xande Ribeiro, Paulo Guilobel, Gabby Bermudes, Alvaro Romano and the president of the Canadian BJJ Federation Tim Shears.

Aside from being a very well run event, the promoters collected foods for the daily food bank. Every competitor and spectator brough one kilo of food to the event. Bringing a Brazilian tradition to Canada in more ways than one.

Professor Alvaro Romano made a demonstration of his Gymnastica Natural in the intermission of the event which had over 200 competitors.
