The previous entries from BJJ.org are being entered after verifying and adding as much information (biographical and photos) as possible. Be aware this has been a SLOW process, and we have been working from the top down (Red Belt).
You are also encouraged to enter your information into the database. Information entered must be approved on the admin end before it will display. Furthermore, we are performing verifications on the authenticity of the rankings (usually by first hand knowledge or acknowledgement from whomever is indicated in lineage). When this process has been completed an additional "Verified" graphic will appear with the record.
Please note that OntheMat is not an official belt verification instition, nor are we endorsing any particular federation, confederation or the like. We are merely providing a service to the community to list out known belt ranks, and verification merely demarks that someone has actually awarded the rank, rather than the legitmacy of the ranking system itself. We hope you find the Belt Ranking Database a useful and fun tool no matter what your level in Jiu Jitsu.
