Light Feather:

Guilherme Mendes (Atos Jiu-Jitsu) edges Laercio Fernandes (Lotus Club) after a score of 2-2pts, win via ref decision

Fight breakdown: Guilherme pulls to open de la riva, then goes for berimbolo. Laercio is able to grab the foot/ankle of Guilherme as he comes through the berimbolo. He brings the leg across his body and triangles the thigh, looking for Gilherme’s back. Guilherme then sweepsfrom 50/50, but Laercio is able to edge his way back up to put Guilherme on his back to earn 2 points himself. It’s tied 2-2 and 1-1 in advantages. Guilherme wins via ref decision.

Feather:

Rafael Mendes (Atos Jiu-Jitsu) def Ruebens Charles “Cobrinha” (Alliance) on ref decision after tie of 2-2 pts

Fight breakdown: Cobrinha pulls guard immediately to sweep, earning 2, Rafael able to swim under leg & sweep, & is on top looking for his signature stack pass. Cobrinha triangles the leg, but Rafael is able to secure the foot tight in a lock for full minute. Rafael wins 2-1 in advantages.

Light:

Leandro Lo (PSLPB Cicero Costha) takes gold on one advantage after a scoreless match versus Lucas Lepri (Alliance)

Fight breakdown: Lo pulls spider guard, Lepri aggressively attempts the cut through pass & Lo is able to swim under the leg to sweep, but Lepri recovers and reverses sweep . Lo earns 1 advantage not 2 for sweep, Lepri tries to pass but unable, Lo wins on single advantage.

Middle:

Otavio Sousa (Gracie Barra) defeats Claudio Calasans (Atos Jiu-Jitsu) via a single penalty against Calasans, the match was tied 6-6

Fight breakdown: Calasans pulls guard & Sousa sits, they go to 50/50, Sousa comes on top for sweep. Calasans returns the sweep, itstie 2-2, & they tie up in 50/50 again. They exchange sweeps again in 50/50, to tie 4-4. Then Calasans comes on top again to edge 6-4. Sousa shoots omaplata from open guard but Calasans backs away, Sousa closes guard & Calasans stans to open. Sousa’s guard opens & Calasans is up. Sousa shoots a takedown for 2, it’s tied 6-6 but Calasans purposely goes out of bounds to initiate the match to be reset & gets 1 penalty for stepping out on the takedown. Sousa wins via penalty against Calasans. 

Medium Heavy:

Romulo Barral (Gracie Barra) def Diego Araujo (Soul Fighters) via cross choke from mount

Fight breakdown:  Barral and Araujo exchange grips and takedown attempts on the feet for first 4 minutes of the fight, Barral then gets the takedown for 2 and advantage for nearly finishing the pass, he eventually passes, mounts and cross chokes Araujo at 7:37 on clock. 

Heavy:

Rodolfo Vieira (GF Team) def Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro (Ribeiro JJ)

Fight breakdown:  Vieira throws Xande twice but he recovers so  Vieira only secures 2 advantages, he is eventually able to take Xande down to earn 2 points, making score 2-0, Xande returns the sweep 2-2. Vieira with 4 adv.

Ultra Heavy:

Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida (Checkmat) def Leandro Leite (Alliance) via armbar

Fight breakdown:  Buchecha charges for the takedown after they shake hands, Leite comes to the ground but returns straight to his feet, so Buchecha is given only advantage, not the 2 points. Buchecha shoots once more, again taking Leite down, but Leite comes right back to the feet and Buchecha earns a second advantage point. Buchecha final lands a takedown (2 pts), passes (3 pts) and mounts (4 pts) Leite, taking 9 points. After a couple minutes of Leite attempting to escape the mount, Buchecha wraps up his opponents arm and finishes Leite with the armbar.

Super Heavy:

Bernardo Faria (Alliance) takes gold after a gentlemen’s agreement reached with teammate Leo Nogueira (Alliance)

Fight breakdown:  n/a, gentlemens agreement between teammates determined 1st/2nd place
