Female BJJ in Middle East??

Prizes go up to 150,000usd GP FOR FEMALES for the first time in history The team in Jordan has been hard at work organizing an event to shock the BJJ world. With Jiu-Jitsu super stars like Andre Galvao, Cobrinha, Braulio Estima, Rominho Barral, Sergio Moraes, Gabriel Vella and Marcelo Garcia and many more now its the time for the females to sign up. “Having the female division was not on our plan for this upcoming event in December, but do to the huge amount of inquiries we made this historic launch in Jordan”, says Mirza. “Olympic Committee President, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Al Hussein is a big supporter of female role and participation in sports in the region. His daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah Al Faisal is a skiled Jiu-Jitsu practitionar herself”, reveals Zaid Mirza, who spreads the Gentle Art and MMA in the Middle East and Asia. Mirza is emphasizing that the tournament will be different than what people are used to at BJJ competitions. With professional event management taking over light and sound production, and the cash prizes that have went up to 150,000 US dollars, the tournament sounds more like an MMA event than a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament.

The femal weight/belt class, with 4,000 USD and 2,000 USD respectively for the 1st and 2nd place winners in the division, further continuing his record breaking ways as again the highest paying for a female division and the first female class in the Middle East. To make things more exciting, a 100usd bonus will be awarded for each submission.

The Jordanians are also trying to make it easier for competitors to travel and compete in the event by organizing travel issues like transportation and accommodation and adding other touristic activities to follow the tournament. Overall if the success of the Capital Challenge in Brasilia was a taste of what’s to come then everyone should be excited to see what Mirza has to offer in Jordan.
