Future Matches UFC Fight Night 63 tells you who we think the winners and losers of this weekend’s event should face next. Do you agree?
Future Matches UFC Fight Night 63 had a big matchup for the Featherweight division and only one of the fighters has a shot at a rematch with Aldo. Did they earn it?
Future Matches UFC Fight Night 63: Winners
Chad Mendes vs. Winner of Cub Swanson vs. Max Holloway
Mendes has too many unknowns to wait for the outcome of the title fight. For all we know it could result in an instant rematch. Swanson and Holloway are facing off in a few weeks and the winner is easily a top five Featherweight. Mendes just fought for the title so another fight or two to create interest is not out of the question.
Al Iaquinta vs. Michael Chiesa
Iaquinta had a close fight and did not show that he has the potential to beat anyone in the top ten. To make that point true, he should do what he set to do when he was on TUF and beat Michael Chiesa. They both fought on this card and both one, and they both want to crack that top ten. They are not newcomers anymore and these two UFC fighters can rematch for a chance to crack the upper echelon.
Juliana Pena vs. Liz Carmouche
Pena says she is on a mission to get the belt and to prove she can compete with Rousey, she can fight Carmouche. A former title challenger herself, she is a good litmus test for how far Pena can go in this division.
Clay Guida vs. Ricardo Lamas
Lamas needs to show he can fight in the upper division when someone puts the pressure on him. Both of his losses show that he losses when people pressure him whether it be Mendes or Aldo. Guida can prove that test who did not look the best, but still look damn good in his win.
Future Matches UFC Fight Night 63: Losers
Jorge Masvidal vs. Edson Barboza
Many people think he won his fight so why not reward him like he did. Barboza is coming off a lot but ranked a lot higher than Masvidal. Plus, this striking affair would be fun for the fans.
