Invicta FC has still been plugging along despite the UFC poaching some of its best talent. One wonder they do not currently have is Livia Souza who is their 115 pound Strawweight champion and she poses a big threat to the UFC’s champion in the same division. She has amazing BJJ with 7 of her 9 wins coming by submission, but she may have added deadly standup with her winning her last fight by TKO in 90 seconds against a former undefeated challenger. Now, she will take on UFC castoff Angela Hill who has won two fights by TKO since leaving the world’s biggest MMA fight promoter and is Souza gets past Hill in stunning fashion it may not be long before she makes the jump to the UFC. Plus, they may be in need of new challengers if this new Flyweight division starts in the UFC like it looks like.
This is not the only title fight not he card as the always tough Bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger looks to continue her dominance as the best 135 pound female outside the UFC against Colleen Schneider who despite a pedestrian record of 10-6 has pulled off four straight wins but two of her last wins were by split decision.
Evinger has mixed it up with some of the best over her decade long career and while she has tough losses to Gina Carano, Sara McMann and Alexis Davis she herself has rattled off eight straight wins which has netted her the title in Invicta. In those eight wins, she has three first round finishes, two second round finishes, a fourth round finish and two decisions. She has a mixture of wins by TKO and submission in those stoppages but has arm barred and knocked out in two of her last four wins.
No one else of huge note is on the card, Charmaine Tweet looks to build for her first win in Invicta after being destroyed by Cyborg in under a minute. She will provide a tough test for the undefeated Latoya Walker who returns after a year layoff where she beat TUF veteran Peggy Morgan by decision. Still it si a good card to watch for all those that already pay for fight pass.
