Concord, NC – VENGEANCE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPSTM will host their first mixed martial arts event in North Carolina on Saturday, September 27th at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord. This will be the biggest MMA event in North Carolina since the boxing commission began sanctioning events. Negotiations have been finalized with the legendary Don King and his staff, and plans are in place to air this event on DonKingtv.com in more than 122 countries reaching a global audience into the millions. The event will be blacked out in North Carolina. The main event features Jeff “the Snowman” Monson vs Mark “the Titan” Kerr (AKA “the Smashing Machine”). Also on the card is Marcus “Conan” Silveria, a UFC veteran, American Top Team Instructor, 2-time Extreme Fighting Championship and Gracie black belt. His opponent, who has also won in the UFC, is local legend John Savage. Savage, originally from Tonga, now resides in Charlotte, NC. Carmelo Marrero, also from American Top Team, is a fierce fighter known for his superior Jiu-Jitsu. Marrero has defeated UFC stars such as Cheick Kongo but he will have his hands full with Brazilian fighter Denis Gomes. Gomes boasts an impressive record in sport jiu-jitsu, and is undefeated in MMA. The undercard promises to be filled with great match-ups as well. Some of the rising stars to watch are Hallie “Snake” Haire and Rodney Wallace who both hold undefeated records and are both are from North Carolina. Wallace (2-0 pro) will be facing the very tough Ovince St. Preux (1-0 pro). St. Preux was the King of the Cage LHW amateur champ, and ran up an impressive 10-0 record before turning pro.
