Rashad Evans has New Opponent for Next Fight

Rashad Evans was supposed to have the long awaited bout with another former champion in Mauricio “Shogun” Rua which has long been talked about but never came to fruition.Rua had recently came back to win a fight with in a match with Lil Nog. Before that win, he had gone a terrible 1-4 and was finished in all four of his losses. Unfortunately, he will not be able to build on that win now that he has had to drop out of the fight due to injury.

Evans is looking to rebuild himself after returning to the cage. In juries kept Evans out of the Octagon from November of 2013 until October to 2015, nearly two years. The issue is that he had a variety of injuries that barely let him able to compete let alone train at some times. His return came against, at theme, top contender Ryan Bader, but the issue was the time off and age affected him too much. Now, he was looking for a win over Rua but will now face a potentially even more dangerous opponent.

He will be facing off with former number one contender Glover Teixeira. He put his twenty fight win streak up against the former champion Jon Jones who took him out by decision and then an out of shape Teixeira lost to Phil Davis in his next fight. He returned to form and took out OSP by submission after a back and forth first round and took out Pat Cummins by TKO and that means he had a solid 2015. He had not been lined up for fight yet, but he now gets to take on a former champion for a potential third straight win. With a win, he will be a top contender for the title again and may be a number one contender outside of Anthony Johnson. Who do you think wins this big fight?
