Stout Prefight Update from Las Vegas

Since late May I have been training in Las Vegas in preparation for my June 24th fight with Sam Stout on the Season Finale of The Ultimate Fighter 3. My fight will be the Main Event of the night. The show will be broadcast on Spike TV starting at 9pm.

As my Muay Thai and MMA coach, Mark DellaGrotte, is filming TUF 4 in Las Vegas, I moved my camp out here to keep my timing and training sharp. Plus, it helped me get accustomed to the hot and dry weather.

As most of you know, I was slated to fight Stout in early March, but I was forced to drop out due to a back injury. I’m glad to report that my back is fully healed. I was able to resume training in late March. In April, I spent several weeks in Thailand, training with the world’s top Muay Thai fighters.

At this point, the hard work is behind me. All that is left is getting my weight down and mentally preparing myself for Saturday. In both respects, I am following a very detailed plan. For example, even when and how I drink water is strictly controlled.

Sam Stout has proven to be one of the toughest 155 lbers in the world. He is on a 9 fight win streak. You can bet that this fight will bring out the best in me. For the first time, I will be fighting at my natural weight class. As a result, I will be quicker and stronger than ever. I was ready for Stout in March and now I’m just that much more prepared.

Stay with the Flo,
