UFC 195 Matches to Make

Robbie Lawler vs. Tyron Woodley
Woodley gets the shot based on Hendricks’ inability to make weight for their fight. Who knows when this fight will happen, but it is the fight to make. I would like to see Condit fight Demain Maia for the next title shot int he meantime, but see below for why that may not happen.

Carlos Condit vs. Retirement
Condit may get an instant rematch since many thought he won the fight. Unfortunately, it was said by him and Dana White he was considering retirement with a loss. If he chooses to continue to fight will be his choice.

Stipe Miocic vs. Heavyweight champion
They said he gets the next shot at the press conference, so it is that simple.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Junior dos Santos
Poor Andrei Arlovski could smell a title shot, but now has another knockout loss on his record at the hands of Stipe Miocic. JDS is also ranked int eh top five with a recent loss. Let these two face off to keep one of them in the hunt of a title shot.

Albert Tumenov vs. Winner of Jake Ellenberger vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Five straight wins with three finishes in five of those fights. He needs a chance to crack the top 15. Both of these fighters need to justify their ranking in the division. Ellenberger has actually dropped out of the division at this point, but with a win over Saffiedine who is at number 10 with a 1-1 record in the UFC and has not fought in a year. Tumenov has fought six times in the last two years and that activity along with win streak make him deserve a crack at the winner of this fight.

Abel Trujillo vs. Winner of Paul Felder vs. Daron Cruickshank
Trujillo is a tough fighter with blaring holes in his game, but he deserves to face people who will obviously give him the fight that will please the fans. This is happening in a few weeks with Felder and Cruickshank facing off, and the winner of that fight is still looking to rebuild which makes Trujillo a smart next fight.

Michael MacDonald vs. Bryan Caraway
MacDonald is 6-2 in the division, finished his last four fights and only lost to the best in Urijah Faber and Renan Barao. He deserves his shot to reclaim his spot in the top ten and Caraway is the best way to get there. A tough fighter who is turning down everyone to fight, but at 24, MacDonald is already  former title challenger and could be again with a few wins.

Justine Kish vs. Maryna Moroz
Two strong 115 female strikers will face off in a fight for the fans and a fight to crack the top ten. Makes sense respective to both their careers and skills.

Dustin Poirier vs. Edson Barboza
Damn if this wouldn’t be a violent fight. Barboza has had ups and downs when facing the best in the division, and Poirier has won three straight fights at 155 and been dominant in all three. Not to mention he was a top five Featherweight when he changed weight classes. This fight will show his potential.
