UFC 202 Fills Up Fast

UFC 202 is set to take place in Las Vegas Nevada and it is already filling up even though the promotion has not made it past the UFC’s biggest card of the year with UFC 200. The PPV will be headlined by the rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, which I could personally care less about, but that does not mean the undercard will not be filled by some amazing fighters.

Obviously, it has already come to light that Donald Cerrone will be making a two month turnaround to face off with Rick Story to reach the top ten at Welterweight, but they are not the only 170 pound fighters set to face off on the card. There is also the return of a former interim champion, the most active fighter on the UFC’s roster and a veteran fighter looking to secure his title shot.

While Cerrone likes to fight a lot, so does Neil Magny who has not fought in five months by that time. He has one 10 out of his last 11 bouts and has even won three straight since his submission loss to Demain Maia. He recently took out the likes of Kevlin Gastelum and Hector Lombard. He is set to face off with Dong Hyun Kim, who like magny, has floated around he top ten at Welterweight for a while. His most recent loss came at the hands of current number one contender Tyron Woodley, but he rebounded from that loss with two straight finishes which upped him to 6-1 in his last seven fights.

One of Kim’s biggest losses was to the hands of former interim title holder Carlos Condit who nearly retired after his losing effort to take Robbie Lawler’s belt, but he will return to try and secure himself another shot at the title. He will take on none other than grappling ace Demain Maia who is looking to secure his first title shot at 170 at the age of 38. Still the multi-time grappling champion 8-2 at 170 and has rattled off five straight wins. it will be hard to deny him if he can get past Condit.

The last big bout announced for the card is the rescheduling of Anthony Johnson against Glover Teixeira. The two were supposed to face off at the next Fox card but an injury to Johnson pulled him out of the event. Now, the two will fight for what will most likely be a shot at the title int he co-main event of this fight card. All these fighters are looking to climb the ladder but only one can in each fight. Who do you think it will be?
