UFC Cuts Three Fighters

The UFC is known to cut fighters when they come on big losing streaks or if they do not perform up to expectations. The biggest name fighter is Daron Cruickshank who has been with the UFC for a considerable amount of time. He has been with the UFC since mid-2012 after coming off the only live season of TUF. It was a decent season for TUF with Al Iaquinta and Michael Chiesa vying for the TUF title. Cruickshank made an immediate impact winning his firs two fights and the second one by headlock knockout. A win over veteran fighter Yves Edwards were sandwiched around two losses. The best run of his UFC career came next going 3-1 with two more headlock knockouts coming in the span. The only loss came by decision to Jorge Masvidal.

The next span was not as good as a no-contest was finished off by three straight losses. The last three losses all came by submission with Beneil Dariush, James Krause and Paul Felder. He announced being cut and promised to continue fighting on in whatever promotion will hire him.

The second fighter cut was Matt Dywer who earned a contract after finishing UFC veterans Shonie Carter and DeMarques Johnson by TKO in mid-2014. His first fight did not go as planned as he was knocked out by head kick but won his second fight  went much better as he won by superman punch and picked up a performance of the night bonus. He made a little more extra cash in his fight with Alan Jouban which he lost but was awarded fight of the night. He lost a decision at the end of January that spelled the end of his UFC career.

The last person to be cut was Gasan Umalatov who was a decision machine in his tenure. He had a 1-3 span with a win over paulo Thiago but lost to Neil Magny and Cathal Pendred but will be looking for new employment after his being cut by the UFC.
