UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez Adds Fights

UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez added some much needed bouts for the fight card that comes right before the UFC’s biggest card of the year, UFC 200. The event is headlined by a Lightweight title fight where Rafael dos Anjos returns to the cage after an injury kept him from fighting Conor Mcgregor this year to take on former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez. Now, the card has some depth with the five fights they have added.

One of the biggest fights pits UFC veteran Mike Pyle against Alberto Mina. Pyle has had ups and downs since his 7-1 run in the Octagon. He sits at 2-3 in the last few years but is coming off a win over Sean Spencer by third round TKO. Now, he faces the undefeated Mina who has won twelve straight with his last win coming over Yoshirio Akiyama last November. Also, BJJ ace Gilbert Burns is going to try and return from the first loss of his career when he faces off with Łukasz Sajewski.

Lightweight John Makdessi looks to keep his career after a 1-3 stretch in his last four fights when he takes on Mehdi Baghdad in July. The biggest fight that has been announced is Roy Nelson and Derrick Lewis facing off in a battle of big Heavyweights. These two have been circling each other for a while and have wanted to face off in the past. Nelson just pulled out of a three fight losing streak when he took a unanimous decision win over Jared Rosholt and Lewis a 1-2 stretch of fights in mid-2014 to mid-2015 and has won three straight fights now all by TKO the last of which came over Gabriel Gonzaga. Not bad for a free card.
