USA Pankration is teaming up with USA Combat Sambo to send a USA Youth and Adult Team to Europe to compete in the World Combat Sambo Championship and Ukraine Gold Cup Pankration Tournament.
These competitions will be preceded by a four day training camp with coaching from Ukrainian National, World and Olympic Wrestling Champions and World Combat Sambo Champions.
Former Soviet Champion and 2009 Greco Roman World Veteran Champion Valentin Kalika has been appointed as the US representive for the World Combat Sambo Federation and is coordinating the training camp, lodging and transportation while in the Ukraine. Mr. Kalika is the former Junior National Wrestling Coach for the Ukraine and has led numerous US delegations for competitions and training in his native country. Eligible Participants:
USA Youth National Team is taking applications from athletes ages 11 to 17 yrs with a previous top 4 placing in a State or National Level Pankration Tournaments and/or athletes with an elite level of experience in both striking and grappling combative sports. This team will compete against the Ukraine Youth All Star Combat Sambo team in a dual match and compete in the Ukraine Open Pankration Tournament (Grappling and Combat Grappling is tenative for kids team).
USA Men’s – Combat Sambo, Grappling, Combat Grappling and Pankration Team: This is an international competition tour open to all US Male Athletes. It is strongly recommended that applicants are in excellent physical condition with experience in Striking and Grappling. This team will maintain an intense schedule while competing in 4 combative tournaments along with training camps.

All participants must obtain a passport but a visa is not required for travel to the Ukraine. It takes an average of 6 weeks to obtain a US Passport. Airfare and accommodations in the Ukraine are at an all time low. Round trip airfare, in country transportation, Training Camps, Food, Lodging, Tournaments and Sightseeing is estimated to cost $2000 per participant.
