What to Watch this Weekend!

This weekend there will be events from the big three in MMA between the UFC, Bellator, and WSOF. While it is not the biggest set of events there is no shortage in any MMA fights. The weekend starts out with Bellator tomorrow night.

Bellator 149 is a decent event for Bellator, but none of the fights hold any real fights of value on the card. The collective age of the main event participants is 101 years old. Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie are way past there prime and should be no where near a cage, yet they find themselves fighting in the main event of the second biggest mama promotion. The co-main event is no better with Kimbo Slice taking on some guy with a name like an old science fiction movie in DADA 5000. The rest of the main card has two UFC castoffs and two Light-Heavyweights nowhere near a title shot and are 1-2 in their last three fights.

WSOF is putting on an event as well and this at least has a title fight on it. Marlon Moraes puts his ten fight winning streak and title on the line against relatively unknown fighter Joseph Barajas who is 12-1. Moraes is a good fighter, but the issues is he is languishing in the promotion who cannot really test himself against the best in other promotions. The rest of the card is filled out with decent fighters, but it is nowhere near the level of the cards the promotion has put on.

Lastly and the biggest card is the UFC fight card this weekend. The fight is anchored by a long awaited match between UFC Middleweight stalwarts Michael Bisping and former champion Anderson Silva. Unlike the other cards this weekend, there are still some good fights coming to people on this card. Gegard Mousasi  is putting his top ten ranking on the line against Thales Leites as both are searching to make themselves relevant after recent losses. The rest of the card is okay, but those two fights are worth the admission alone.
