head instructor of the Alliance team in Brazil. He was well known for being a aggressive and high level competitor in his youth. He is now primarily known as being the instructor of Marcelo Garcia.

Gurgel is known for being just as good at teaching as he was at competing. He demands a lot from his students, and gives them just as much knowledge and support back.
