Biography
Mystee is one of the pioneering Professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) Women fighters in which she started her career in 2004 in Indiana.
UFC
Currently women MMA fighters are still not allowed to compete in one of the leading fighting federations the UFC aka Ultimate Fighting Championship due to a belief of not enough experienced women fighters to fill open weight cards for this franchise. However, as time goes and many more women are currently training we hope to see even more women of these weight classes inducted in the so far male domninating new sport of fighting.
Sponsors
As the new industry of Mixed Martial Arts continues to grow many professional male and female fighters are finding that training/fighting full time is still not up to par to being a full time career. This leads for many fighters having to find outside sponsorship in order to train full time in order to compete, these sponsorships sometimes being as simple as sharing free clothing for the fighters, free services in advertising, to a fighter actually receiving a montly stipend to continue in their training.
However, with MMA still being so new a sport and even fewer women pursueing this highly athletic contest that the ones whom are have found that getting a foot in the federations is nothing to smile at. Women fighters are some of the lower paid competitors to this sport due to the possible backlash of women "duking it out" in a ring or octagon.
Which leads to the saving grace for women fighters which so happens to be the same for their male counterparts which is that of "sponsorship" from clothing to health and supplement companies.
