Rodrigo Gracie

Rodrigo is a rising MMA fighter and the son of 9th degree Black Belt Reylson Gracie. Originally got his Black Belt from his father, but took it off to train with cousin Renzo Gracie. Did so as Renzo's bjj for mma differed from his father's, so he felt it only right to re-earn the rank. He went on the earn his Black Belt from Renzo as well (currently a 2nd degree Black Belt) and opened his own academy on Long Island, New York. The academy is still there today but is now run by Soca (Gracie Barra Black Belt) because Rodrigo moved to California to focus on training for MMA, working with his cousin Royce Gracie.

Despite a winning professional record in mixed martial arts, he lost a unanimous decision in November of 2004 to BJ Penn, and has often voiced a desire for a rematch.
