World of Series of Fighting 26 Announced

World Series of Fighting is set to put on their 26th event before the years end. WSOF 26 will take place on December 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the new arena at the Cosmopolitan. This is an interesting choice considering their will be two events taking place at the same arena for MMA the weekend before the the UFC is in town. Nonetheless, the World Series of Fighting will close out the year in style.

The main event will be a match putting Lance Palmer’s Featherweight title on the line. Palmer originally fought for the title in 2013 and lost due to submission. He returned with a submitting his next opponent in the first round and then went not o capture the title in his next bout when he took out Rick Glenn with a third round submission. The submissions did not stop there as he took out an MMA veteran in Chris Horodecki with a neck crank in his next fight. TH only problem is Palmer does to have a challenger yet.

He will either take on Alexandre Almedia or Saul Almedia who face off later this weekend at WSOF 24. Also set for the card is the return of Tyrone Spong. Song recently tried to jump ship to the UFC for a bout with Ben Rothwell, but he is still singed on with the WSOF promotion. He is returning from a extended layoff after winning two straight bouts in MMA. It has been over twenty events since his last bouts at WSOF 4. Now he returns to try and make a run in the division that may eventually earn him a shot in the UFC like he wishes to have.
