In just two weeks, the sixteenth installment of America’s popular U.S. Open BJJ tournament will commence on October 15 and 16 in it’s new San Jose, CA location.
Over the years, the U.S. Open has acquired a reputation for the quality and fairness of the refereeing at the tournament. This is due in large part to Professor Alvaro Mansor and his tireless efforts to educate the Jiu-Jitsu community about the rules of BJJ and the yearly seminar he conducts prior to the tournament.
This year will be no exception, as Professor Alvaro Mansor, 4th Degree Black Belt and Director of Referees for the Confederation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJF) and the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), will be conducting a Rules and Referee seminar in order to help maintain and enhance the quality of refereeing at the U.S. Open Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament.
