UFC 184 and 183 have added some big fights tot heir fights cards making the 2015 fight campaign that much more interesting.
UFC 184 and 183 will open the new year, but will the new fights open your wallet to buy them?
UFC 184 has added a former champion with Frank Mir looking to rebound from a career worse four fight losing streak. A three fight winning streak and injury to Alistair Overeem put him in line to fight then champion Junior dos Santos for the title. From there, Mir took on a murders row of fighters in Daniel Cormier, Josh Barnett and Alistair Overeem. He lost all of those and most people wrote him off. Still as a former UFC champion he can still get in a fight or two before he is cut or forced into retirement.
His year long layoff is not going to be easy upon return as he faces Antonio Silva. Silva has had his ups and downs since joining the UFC going 2-3, but two of those losses came to current UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. His biggest loss was an upset where former champion Andrei Arlovski knocked him out in the first round. Now, Silva has another chance to add a former champion to his record, but hopefully in the win column.
UFC 183 has added a big fight in the women’s Bantamweight division. Unfortunately, both of these women have already lost to current UFC champion Ronda Rousey. In fact, Miesha Tate, one of the competitors, has lost to Rousey twice, but she has also won two fights since then after taking out Liz Carmouche and Rin Nakai. Her opponent has only ever lost to Ronda Rousey though. Sara McMann lost her first fight by TKO but has rebounded by beating topped ranked Lauren Murphy. The winner of this fight could be in line for another title fight even if it is a hard sell to fans.
