UFC Fight Night 59 had some very good matches with some fighters picking up important wins. Who do they fight next? Do you agree with our picks?
Some of the winners and losers of UFC Fight Night 59 have clear cut next matches but some of them are a little less clear. The one man next match that is clear is Conor McGregor.
UFC Fight Night 59: Winners
Conor McGregor vs. Jose Aldo
McGregor has the longest active win streak with two top ten win and four finishes. Aldo and him will sell a lot of PPVs so it makes sense instead of another rematch for Aldo.
Donald Cerrone vs. Lightweight Champion
A lot of people want to see Cerrone fight Khabib Nurmagomedov, but the time table do not match up. No one really knows when he will return due to his knee injury and with the Lightweight title fight happening in early March they will need a new contender. Nurmagomedov has also been out more than a year which means he should face someone like Gilbert Melendez or TJ Grant. Cerrone has won seven straight and should have earned a rematch with either Dos Anjos or Pettis.
Uriah Hall vs. Brad Tavares
Both fighters have had their ups and downs in the UFC but had decent wins in their last fights. They are both trending toward fights with the upper echelon, but a fight with each other will determine who deserves that shot more.
Gleison Tibau vs. Jim Miller
Tibau has said that he is running on a different level of skill now, but he has not shot into the position he wants to be in the UFC. Miller and Tibau fought nearly five years ago and if he can beat him now that means he may be ready to break into the top ten.
Lorenz Larkin vs. Cathal Pendred
Larkin looked great in his debut and both fighters won on this card. Time for them to face off and see who continues to ascend the ladder.
UFC Fight Night 59: Losers
Dennis Siver vs. Clay Guida
Both are UFC veterans who have found themselves stuck in the middle of the division. One is on their way out and this will determine which one that is.
Benson Henderson vs. Winner of Yancy Medeiros vs. Tony Ferguson
It does not matter whether you think Benson won or not, but the bottom line is he has had plenty of gift decisions. He needs to rebuild after losing 2-3 of his last five fights. Ferguson and Mederios are facing off for a potential shot at a top ten fighter which Benson can offer.
