Well, this main event is out of left field. After Cris Cyborg debuted in the Octagon earlier this year no one was sure that she would ever fight for the promotion again after she was adamant about returning to defend her belt in Invicta FC. No,w she is set to return to the Octagon. Now, se is set to face off with Lina Lansberg who is new to the UFC.
This fight will take place at 140 again. Cyborg is coming off an 81 second debut knock out over Leslie Smith in her last fight. Lansberg is riding a six fight win streak since losing her debut. She has four knockout in those fights. That is nothing compared to Cyborg who has 16 wins and in those 16 wins she has 14 knockouts. That is just a tad bit more experience.
Also, set for the card is the return of Renan Barao to the cage after his debut Featherweight loss to Jeremy Stephens. That made three losses in four fights for the former champion. Now, he is looking to rebuild against a former TUF champion in Philipe Nover.
Nover is in his second run in the UFC and has gone 1-1. He came back in May of last year to capture a split decision victory. Then he lost a split decision in December of last year. This is a huge chance for him to prove himself, but he seems more like a sacrificial lamb in this case to rebuild the former champion in Barao.
