UFC News and Notes will tell you all the big match ups and injuries that are rocking the MMA world at this moment. Is there any fight that excite you?
UFC News and Notes: Paige Van Zant vs. Alex Chambers
Paige Van Zant is someone that everyone wants to see fight for the title but at the end of the day she is just a little too green. Given this is the girl who could not fight in the TUF house due to being too young for the show and is coming off a big back injury before her Octagon debut. She has picked up two straight wins and that only makes six fights overall at just 21. She will now face Alex Chambers who has gone 1-1 in the UFC having beat the same fighter in Kaillin Curran.
UFC News and Notes: Dodson vs. Johnson II
John Dodson may have given Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson his toughest fight as champion to date. Since then, Johnson has finished all but one opponent in the Octagon which was a fight where his opponent tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. Dodson was the only fighter to hurt he champion and win multiple rounds. It makes for an intriguing fight even if Dodson’s last fight was not the best to watch after an extended layoff due to injury.
UFC News and Notes: Chad Mendes up to Bat
With all the rumors and speculation that Aldo would be pulled from the main event of the upcoming UFC PPV. While we know now that the fight is still on at this moment, there is the chance he could pull out any day which means that the UFC needed a back up. Now they have that in the form of Chad Mendes. That is one confusing thing considering that Mendes is only one fight removed from a losing effort for the title. Where instead you could have Edgar who has won four straight since his title bid. Hopefully since both are willing to fight on short notice they can face off soon for number one contendership.
UFC News and Notes: Cormier injured
Cormier may have just won the title but like all other champion he will now sit on the shelf. He has a knee injury and is hoping a different form of therapy will allow him to not have to have ACL surgery.
UFC News and Notes: Joanna Champion to Reebok
Joanna the champion wants to be the Ronda Rousey of 115 and now she is following in those footsteps. She may not be a first round finisher but she is stopping her opponents in convincing fashion. Also, she is now signed to an exclusive deal with Reebok which should garner her even more money every time she steps in the cage. Unfortunately, she just had surgery on her hand which will keep her out until the end of the year.
