UFC on Fox 14 has been announced and a lot of big match ups in multiple divisions are set to take place.
At UFC on Fox 14, Jon Jones may have his next number one contender after facing off with Daniel Cormier, but who will it be?
The main event of UFC on Fox 14 has Alexander Gustafsson facing off against Anthony Johnson. The matchup originally had Gustafsson facing off with former Light-Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, but the issue was that Evans still had an injured knee. Luckily, the charges against Johnson had been dropped and he was free to return to the Octagon. Both of these fighters may be the next in line to fight for the title.
Alexander Gustafsson came super close to taking the belt away from Jon Jones, in fact he came closer than anyone else ever had. Injuries and other contenders stymied their rematch, but Gustafsson took out Jimi Manuwa to earn another shot. Unfortunately, the rivalry between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones reached a fever pitch, and now he has to face Anthony Johnson who, to put it lightly, is on fire.
Johnson returned to the Octagon after six fight win streak and moving up two weight classes. He had a huge fight upon his return and passed with flying colors taking out Phil Davis. He followed that up with a 44 second knockout of Lil Nog, but a court case left him out of the Octagon. Now, he could be one fight away from a title shot.
Also on the card, Dan Henderson takes one last shot at glory by moving back down to Middleweight and facing off with Gegard Mousasi. Henderson has gone 2-4 since returning to the UFC, but he was finished in two of those fights. Mousasi has had mixed results as well since he has gone 1-2 since returning to Middleweight. Both fighters want to return to form in this bout, but it will only be possible for one of the fighters.
Matt Brown and Tarec Saffiedine want the tag of contender returned to their name, but both lost their last fight which makes them even hungrier. Brown lost a number one contenders fight to Robbie Lawler while Saffiedine just loss to Rory MacDonald. Now, they have the shot to return to the top at UFC on Fox 14.
