UFC on Fox 16 for taking place in Chicago. It is going to be headlined by a title fight which has not happened since December of 2013 t UFC on Fox 9.
UFC on Fox 16: Main Event
TJ Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2
Dillashaw is set to defend his title for the second time against Renan Barao which is a rematch for the two after Dillashaw beat Barao for the title back in May of last year. Since that time both have gone on to win one fight a piece, but this fight was supposed to happen in April. Unfortunately, Dillashaw as injured and the fight was postponed.
UFC on Fox 16: Undercard
Anthony Pettis vs. Myles Jury
Another former champion will look to start his path back to the title when Anthony Pettis faces off with Myles Jury. Pettis lost his Lightweight title after Rafael dos Anjos beat him from bell to bell for five rounds in March. Jury was undefeated in his career until he lost to Donald Cerrone earlier this year. Now, the two face off to get back into title contention. It will be interesting to see how these fighters perform after such devastating and one sided losses.
Miesha Tate vs. Jessica Eye
While it is confusing why, this fight is considered a number one contenders fight and unless Bethe Correia beats Ronda Rousey it is hard to see why either Tate or Eye would deserve a title shot. Yes, it would be four straight wins for Tate but she has already been finished twice by Rousey. Plus, when comparing their common opponents her wins are not nearly as convincing. For Eye, she has only won one fight in her three Octagon fights. Her first win was overturned due to a dirty drug test, she lost a close split decision to Alexis Davis, and she TKOd Leslie Smith. This division may be running out of options though
