UFC 193 Matches to Make

Holly Holm vs. Amanda Nunes

Holly holm is probably going to want to fight before July of next year, because at 24 years of age her time on top is limited. She should not have to wait until Rousey wants to come back when one of the most dangerous women in the division is waiting in the wings. nunes showed her skills with her devastating knockout of Sara McMann and it would be fun to see what she does when facing off with Holm’s striking.

Ronda Rousey vs. Cyborg

Rousey was knocked out cold and regardless of how good you are, it should not count as a instant rematch. I have the same issue with Cain Velasquez getting another shot at the title after getting demolished by Fabricio Werdum. If Cyborg can truly make 135, then have her fight for Rousey since it is still a fight everyone wants to see just like when Liddell fought Silva finally. Plus, whoever wins this fight gains the right for number one contendership.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Claudia Gadelha

Jedrzejczyk has proven to be the best in the division, but the only thing stopping her from laying claim to the absolute best is her lingering split decision win over Gadelha. Yes, she won the fight but the judges could have easily swung the decision in favor of the Brazilian. The easiest way to answer who is the best fighter is to have them face off with five rounds to decide. Time for her next title defense once her hand heals.

Valerie Letourneau vs. Carla Esparza

Letournea proved herself to be a top five fighter at 115 with her performance against the champion when everyone was unaware why she was given the title fight. Esparza has been off due to injury, but is a former champion looking to climb back to the title. Letourneau should not drop that far out of contention with a performance like that. so she seems like the perfect matchup for Esparza upon her return.

Mark Hunt vs. Frank Mir

Hunt came out the big victor in his rematch with Bigfoot. He may be on his last run to the title, but he might as well take out some former champions on his way to the top. Mir hit a road bump in his resurgence recently, but anyone that would not want to see him face off with Hunt is absolutely crazy.

Robert Whittaker vs. Michael Bisping

Whittaker was supposed to face off with Bisping before the TUF champion was hurt and had to have surgery. Now, he will be back in a few months and Whittaker still deserves that shot at the veteran of the Octagon to add another high profile name to his resume on his climb toward title contention.

Jared Rosholt vs. Ruslan Magomedov

Rosholt and Magomedov are both rising contenders in the UFC’s Heavyweight division, but when you fight in a division as volatile as the Heavyweights and win fights by decision you have a lot more to prove. No one will want to see you fight when they can watch Mark Hunt turn people’s light out. Have these two face off to see who gets to challenge one of the top ten fighters for a right to continue their way toward a title shot.
