FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING California Invitational set to offer exciting preview to California audience
October 2014 – FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING CALIFORNIA INVITATIONAL is coming to the Crown Plaza Resort in
Anaheim, California on November 23rd, 2013. Many of the best jiu-jitsu players in California will be featured on a
FREE LIVE STREAM. FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING (FIVE) intends to crown a number of California champions who will
then move on to compete against all-comers’ at the FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING CALIFORNIA 1, set for February,
2014.
“We wanted to do something special for the California jiu-jitsu community. Something to get people excited in
anticipation of FIVE’s first open event in California”, said Dayan Henson, CEO or FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING. He
continued, “Part of what we are trying to bring to the world of competitive jiu-jitsu is a platform that recognizes
and promotes great athletes and accomplished competitors. The California Invitational is a great example of our
commitment to helping build the profiles of athletes who compete in FIVE events”.
The FIVE GRAPPLING CALIFORNIA GRAPPLING INVITATIONAL will host 9 Open Weight Divisions as well as 2 kids
Super Fights. The main event, a 5 man EXPERT NOGI Round Robin, will feature head-to-head match-ups between a
few of the world’s best including Keenan Cornelius, Jackson Souza, Gary Tonan and 2 more to be named later.
FIVE CHAMPIONS will be crowned in the following divisions:
MEN’S OPEN GI – Black, Brown, Purple & Blue
MEN’S OPEN NOGI – Expert (Round Robin), Advanced & Novice
WOMEN’S OPEN GI – Black/Brown
WOMEN’S OPEN NOGI – Expert
BOY’S – Super Fight
GIRL’S – Super Fight
Along with winning a coveted FIVE Championship belt and free entry to FIVE GI.NOGI GRAPPLING CALIFORNIA 1
(where they will defend their title) the winners will be considered for potential sponsorship opportunities.
Much of the event will be STREAMED LIVE, FREE of charge. Tickets to watch the event live and in-person will be
made available to the general public on a limited time fist come first serve basis. Details will be soon to follow.
