Mackenzie Dern of Gracie Humaita & Megaton Jiu Jitsu wins again at the European Open in Lisbon, Portugal. Mackenzie showed us once again that the apple does not fall far from the tree.
She started off the tournament with two fights in her weight bracket, winning the first match by points & the second with a classic lapel choke. Following her first place finish in her division, she competed in the open division where she again demonstrated her dominance to the Lisbon crowd. Mackenzie finished these two matches by chokes as well, a classic choke and a triangle. She won her third match by points, which placed her against Lloyd Irvine’s top purple belt, Sijara Eubanks, against whom she pulled a tough 5 x 3 win.

Mackenzie will be seen next at the 1st All Female Open Mat in Phoenix, Arizona on February 5th.
