After 15 years, U.S. Open BJJ tournament venue to move from Santa Cruz to San Jose, California

In an email to past competitors and the BJJ community, Claudio França Brazilian JiuJitsu announced that after 15 years, the U.S. Open has outgrown it’s Santa Cruz venue and beginning this year, the tournament will move to the San Jose Event Center at San Jose State University Campus.

 

The note highlighted the city of San Jose will have a lot to offer in the way of restaurants, hotels, entertainment and traveling convenience. Noting, the city is a closer hub for trains, buses and airports.

 

The U.S. Open XVI will take place on October 15th and 16th, 2011.

 

The tournament will be open to all blue belt levels in juvenile through senior III divisions, with no kids divisions.

 

Registration is not yet open, but when it does, it will be posted here and via email if you are a past competitor or on their email list.

 

The price for early registration is $75.00.
