Anthony Pettis Injured; Out of UFC on Fox 16

Anthony Pettis Injured himself yet again and now he is out of his fight at UFC on Fox 16. Now, he will have to wait longer to redeem himself.

Anthony Pettis Injured
Anthony Pettis was looking to return after he lost his title to Rafael dos Anjos. It was a shock to most people who were almost positive that he would retain the title, but dos Anjos pulled off a masterful performance. He was set to take on Myles jury who was looking to get a huge win and back on the right track as well.

Jury had won six straight over two years of fighting in the Octagon. Then he faced current number one contender Donald Cerrone and his ability were washed down the drain as he shut down against Cerrone. That was in January of this year and now he will have to faced another vaunted striker due to Anthony Pettis injured body.

Anthony Pettis Injured and out of UFC on Fox 16.

In to face Jury is Edson Barboza. He has had his ups and downs across his UFC career. Barboza is 9-3 in the UFC with some spectacular performances, but the issue here is the losses he has accrued. He always seem to do well against everyone else, but losses when it means the most. Whether it is to Donald Cerrone, Michael Johnson, or the surprise loss to Jaime Varner, Barboza seems to be not able to pull the trigger when the results would be a win and a potential title shot.

Anthony Pettis injured status calls into question how long it will take him to get back into the title picture. The longer he stays out of the public eye, can’t fight, and  more challengers appear in the lightweight division. It will be interesting to see how long he has to sit out due to this new injury.
