For the First time EVER there will be an official Submission Grappling WORLD Championships. On September 7th-9th the World Championships of Submission Grappling will be held in Antalya, Turkey alongside Freestyle Wrestling, Greco Roman, Sombo and Beach Wrestling. All Events are sanctioned under FILA, the official International governing body for Grappling Operating under the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
The Best of the West is an OFFICIAL Qualifier for the World Team Trials held in Las Vegas on June 14th alongside the Freestyle Wrestling, Greco Roman, Sombo and Beach Wrestling World Team Trials. The Top 2 finishers in each weight category in the Men’s Advanced divisions (20 Total Athletes) and Women’s Advanced divisions (8 Total Athletes) will be placed in the World Team Trials to battle for the Top 3 positions of their respected weight class to become a member of the FIRST EVER Official USA Team to Travel to Antalya, Turkey to represent the USA. Travel and accommodations will be fully paid to participate in the first ever World Championships!!!
