Flavio Almeida known has Cachorrinho which means little dog in Portuguese is one of the top competitors to ever come out of world famous Gracie Barra.
I was lucky enough to get a lot of mat time with him back in the early 2000s when he was still an avid competitor and I was training at the original Gracie Barra in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Here are some of his titles.
— 2x World Champion (1999 – brown, 1997 blue);
— ADCC Silver Medal in 2007
— 2x Pan de BJJ Silver Medalist in 2007 and then again in 2009
— 2x Brasilieros Silver Medalist at purple belt in 1998 and brown belt in 1999
— 3x Mundial Bronze Medals in 2007, 2001, 2000
— IBJJF European Bronze Medal in 2009
