The Bullet Clips Freebird’s Wings at NorthCoast Showdown II




John “The Bullet” Fields vs. Jason “Freebird” Freeman Airs This Weekend on NAAFS Cage Fighting on SportsTime Ohio


The 2008 NAAFS Season kicked off this past Saturday Night , January 19th, 2008 at the Euclid Sports Plant in Euclid, OH with another intense night of MMA action.


In the main event, John “The Bullet” Fields (5-2) made his pro debut in spectacular fashion, disposing of the favored Jason “Freebird” Freeman with a Round 1 TKO victory at just 32 seconds! Immediately after the fight, Fields called out 2007 National Amateur Light Heavyweight Champion and 2007 Amateur Fighter of the Year Joe “The Giant Killer” Lewis, who handed Fields his first loss at NAAFS Border Wars.



In the co-main event, the Super Heavyweights returned to action as hometown favorite “The Irish Hitman” Bobby Favors (4-5) picked up the all important win of Team Truth’s Justin “Give Me Your Lunch Money” Wade by TKO in Round 1.




2006 NAAFS National Amateur Finalist AJ Pulling (7-3) also scored a win in his pro debut, defeating “Truckin” Chad Trukovich (3-5) by Verbal Submission from Strikes in Round 1




Two of the top fighters in the NAAFS Featherweight Division made the jump to the Pro Series in a classic battle. In the end, Team DNA’s Danny “Little Thunder” Balon (11-4) secured a Rear Naked Choke submission victory in the second round of a fight with “Small” Paul Martin (13-4)



In NAAFS National Amateur Series action, 2006 National Lightweight Champion Mike Nesto (8-4) made a successful return to competition, scoring a Unanimous Decision victory over Eric Noel of Team Next Level (5-2).
