Caio Terra Seminar! Best I’ve Ever Been To!

If you have ever had the opportunity to train with Caio or have ever had the opportunity  to attend one of his seminars, you would know that the title of this post is by no means any stretch of the imagination nor an over exaggeration. If anything, I would say it’s and understatement!

This seminar took place at The Relson Gracie Affiliate School which is located at 3335 N. 24th St. in Phoenix, AZ 85016.  The Seminar was from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and the cost was $60. From where I live, the drive was neither short nor was it long and this was the first time I’ve ever been to a Jiu-Jitsu Seminar in the evening. I went to the seminar with very little energy and asking myself, "will I be able to stay awake through all 3 hours?" Stay awake I did! From beginning to end! Everything Caio went over flowed seamlessly together from one  move/position to the other! If you’ve been to many seminars, you would have found quite a few similarities in each. Techniques in bunches that rarely have anything to do with each other. I’ve been to some that had a few grouped or flow together but then later switch gears and move to a totally different position or move. Caio’s format was nothing like the typical seminar I’ve been to where so many unrelated techniques are taught and none of it remembered! He went over a very common position which included his concepts, his approach, and his strategies.

Caio’s insight to his game, his approach, and his technique was a complete and utter eye opener for everyone! Even to a seasoned Black Belt such as myself. I’ve never picked up and retained so much information in a seminar as I did last night. As late as it was, I was bright eyed and bushy tailed with a star struck feeling about me. I felt like a kid in a candy store! I’ve never felt such excitement for BJJ technique in such a long time. Time actually went by fast. A part of me felt time went by too fast! We actually went over the scheduled time! Another difference I found in Caio’s seminar. Not to many instructors go over their time. That showed me he was sincere in teaching and sincere in the students learning. A seminar trait rarely found.

Another rarely found trait in seminars is the instructor rolling! Rarely will you find the individual conducting the seminar, roll with the students. Caio rolled with almost everyone. We even had a special Black Belt Rolling Session after the seminar was over. An opportunity and an experience I will never forget!

Was the seminar cost of $60 worth it? It was more than worth it! I feel it’s worth more! Was a late night worth it? Yes, yes, and yes! Would I do it again? Again, yes, yes, and yes!

If you ever get an opportunity to train with Caio or do one of his seminars, DO IT! Do not skip the opportunity! Borrow the money if you have to! Do not miss it! You will miss the opportunity of a lifetime!

I would like to thank Nate Ziglar of <a href="http://www.graciearizona.com/Gracie_Arizona/Welcome.html">Gracie Arizona</a> for Hosting the Seminar and <a title="Caio Terra" href="http://www.caioterra.com/">Caio Terra</a> for everything! The seminar, the knowledge, and the experience!
