California Amateur MMA Organization Events Start This Weekend!

This weekend kicks off the first of The California Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Organization (CAMO) events. CAMO is holding statewide single elimination tournaments to crown state champions in 8 weight divisions (135lb, 145lb, 155lb, 170lb, 185lb, 205lb, 230lb, and Heavyweight.)

In hopes of reaping the best of what California athletes have to offer, the events are being held in eight different regions, four in Northern California and four Southern California.

Champions in each region will face off in the State quarter finals. Winners will move on to the State semi finals with the ultimate State final being held December 4th.

These events are the first tournaments of their kind for amateur MMA fighters in the State of California. These fights are the training grounds for the future fighters of Strikeforce, UFC and all the other professional organizations.

This weekend’s events are being held in Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and the Bay Area.

The Bay Area event is being held at:

1855 Adams Court
Morgan Hill CA 95037

The doors will open at 1:30 and the fights will begin at 3:00 pm.

Winners from the Bay Area event will be on the October 9th Strikeforce card.
