Here’s an update of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Cassio Werneck to Jordan:


Cassio has been giving intense training sessions to the Jordanian Jiu-Jitsu team inorder to enhance their chances of achieving good results in the coming Emirates Cupfor Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Cassio has beenextremely helpful in the teaching of new moves and advanced moves that could behelpful on a higher level and inevitably improve the practitioners technique. Mostof the training has been with the Kimono or Gi (the traditional suit for Jiu-Jitsu,like Judo), but Cassio has also concentrated on self-defense moves which contributeimmensely to developing a better view of classic Jiu-Jitsu, therefore, furtherenhancing the basic skills that stick with the practitioner throughout. Cassio has also been enjoyingsome exposure in Jordan as he appeared on the morning TV show “Yawm Jadeed” whereCassio and Abu Dahbi Champion and President of the Jordanian Jiu-Jitsu AssociationZaid Mirza provided some insight into what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is as well as showingsome of the techniques live on the program. There has also been some exposure on theradio where Cassio was interviewed by Play Fm for their Cadillac Big Breakfast Show,where Cassio talked about some of his triumphs as a competitor and again providedthe audience with ideas towards Jiu-Jitsu. Cassio also visited the Judo Federationand was awarded with Medals from both the Jiu-Jitsu Association as well as the JudoFederation. Cassio is enjoying the visit to Jordan, and is loving the country andthe people. He stated that he would like to come back and work closer with Zaid Mirza in developing the team, and maybe even have astudent exchange program between Jordan, Brazil, and his academy in Sacramento, USA.Cassio also thanked his Majesty King Abdallah and Prince Hussein Mirza for theirimmense assistance in the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and sports in the country.
