Columbus “Night of Pain” added to 2007 NAAFS Schedule

Updated NAAFS Schedule Released

3/27/07 – Columbus, OH: The NAAFS has officially confirmed its debut in southern Ohio and is pleased to announce “Columbus Night of Pain” scheduled for May 18th, 2007 at the spacious Hoop Sports Complex in Columbus. This event will feature a minimum of twelve professional and amateur bouts while serving as round four of the 2007 NAAFS national series.

The main event will bring fans a grudge match between local favorite Rob “The Bull Rider” Wince (15-7) and Tiffin, Ohio’s Allan Weickert (9-5) who will come in to this fight looking for revenge. In what was a memorable three round battle, Wince got the better of Weickert during last June’s Fight Nite in the Flats 2 event in brutal three round battle. With nearly a year under their belts, both fighters will have something to prove as they try to stay atop the light heavyweight division in front of what is expected to be a capacity and lively hometown crowd.

Southern Ohio’s Team Jorge Gurgel will also be well represented on May 18th including middleweight prospect Luke Zachrich (2-1) who makes his NAAFS pro series debut at 185 lbs and looks to establish himself as a “fighter to watch” in 2007. The entire “Night of Pain” fight card will be released soon on www.NAAFS.tv and www.PKWlive.com. Tickets are expected to go on sale in early April.

The NAAFS would also like to remind fans that NAAFS Border Wars is just around the corner as several of the nations top amateurs will battle in one of the most competitive cards of the season this April 21st in New Philadelphia, Oh. Featuring 2006 national finalist John “Mongoose” Myers (6-3) vs Paul “Straight Outta” Compton (7-0), Joe “The Giant Killer” Lewis (2-0) vs John “The Bullet” Fields (3-0), 2006 LHW Champion Chuck Ellison (4-1) vs Ricky Ovington (7-2) and recently announced Cody “The Wolverine” Stevens (6-1) vs Eric Noel (3-0). Tickets for NAAFS Border Wars are now on sale and available by calling 330-280-8442. On-line Ticket orders and information for Border Wars will be available at www.PKWlive.com within 24 hours.
