Fight League – Grappling Tournament in Orange County, CA (May 2, 2010)

Grappling Tournament – May 2, 2010 in Orange County, California

All Styles, Schools, and Athletes are invited to Fight League’s premier Grappling Tournament on May 2nd at Santa Ana High School in Orange County, California.

This tournament is designed to help introduce FILA’s International Style of Grappling to the Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, and Grappling Community.

FILA has successfully petitioned both Grappling and Pankration for inclusion in the 1st World Combat Games in Beijing, China. This is an International Olympic Style event is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. These games will feature World Championship competition in FILA Wrestling (Specifically Freestyle, Grappling and Pankration), Wushu ( San Shou Fighting and Wu Shu Forms) , Boxing, Judo, Muay Thai, Karate, Japanese Ju Jitsu, Kickboxing, Sumo, Taekwondo, Kendo, and Sambo.

The organizing committee for the Combat Games is covering all expenses for qualified athletes in attendance. The U.S. Team qualified several weights in both Pankration and Grappling at the FILA World Grappling and Pankration Championships in Krakow, Poland in March 2010. To help spread the word about FILA Grappling we made this event as convenient as possible to maximize exposure.

To compete:

. Show up two hours prior to your division start time, pay your $40 registration fee ($30 for youth divisions and Military Personnel) and weigh in.

. Weight classes will be blocked into 8 "man" double elimination brackets based on registrations. This eliminates the need for cutting weight.

. Each age group has a scheduled start time so your down time will be minimized.

NOTE- This this is not a USAW event and membership cards are not necessary to compete.

To further facilitate advanced level participation we have created special Advanced Level Single Elimination fixed weight Tournament with up to a $300 cash award at 150lbs, 170lbs, 185lbs, 205lbs and Heavyweight. This special tournament will occur just prior to the regular event to encourage coach’s participation.
