Future Matches UFC 188: Main Event

Fabricio Werdum vs. Andrei Arlovski

Werdum came through big when almost everyone had counted him out which is not much different than most of his other fights from Fedor to Browne. Arlovski is tied with him with the longing winning streak in the Heavyweight division as well a being 9-1 in his last ten fights just like Werdum. Everyone else needs at least one more win or two before challenging for the title.

Cain Velasquez vs. Stipe Miocic

Velasquez looked good in the first round but after that he was going to fall to Werdum. Miocic has hung around being a title challenger for a while but with recent losses he needs a signature win to capture a bid to fight for the title. Velasquez could be that win or it could be a chance for the former champion to reassert himself into the top of the division.

Future Matches UFC 188: Co-Main Event

Eddie Alvarez vs. Anthony Pettis

Alvarez won the long standing feud and war with Melendez. Now, it is time to move on and move toward a title shot in this division. Pets is hurt but he is a former champion and that coincides with Alvarez having won various titles. It seems like a logical fight for two people trying to get back to the title.

Gilbert Melendez vs. Myles Jury

Melendez is 1-3 in his last four and has only won one fight in the UFC. He needs to rebuild before fighting another top five opponent. Jury is a decent fighter who has only lost once in his career. A win against the former undefeated fighter may prove that Melendez is still in a somewhat prime of his career.

Future Matches UFC 188: Undercard

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Robert Whittaker

Gastelum says he cannot be a top 185 fighter and needs to go back to Welterweight. Might have him face off with a fighter who did make the 170 limit but thought Middleweight was a better idea for him. Whittaker has looked great in his recent fights and a match with Gastelum is a surefire bet to entertain the fans.

Tecia Torres vs. Maryna Moroz

Torres won the fight but did little to show fans why she should fight for the title in the future. Moroz is a tough fighter who took out a former TUF competitor on short notice and now is a chance for her to jump into the top five by facing Torres. Moroz will put her submission skills to the test in this fight.

Henry Cejudo vs. Jusser Formiga

Cejudo needs to compare himself to the top of the division and Formica is a fighter who has fought the best at 125. The winner of this fight could prove to challenger for the title and makes sense to prove just how good Cejudo is in the cage or would be against the likes of Demetrious Johnson.
