The IFBJJ authorized its first sanctioned event in Canada two weeks back in the beautiful city of Vancouver British Columbia. With the emergence of BJJ to North American, there has been many grappling tournaments all over the continent. Some have rules similar to the IFBJJ in brazil and some are IFBJJ sanctioned events. The IFBJJ authorized its first sanctioned event in Canada two weeks back in the beautiful city of Vancouver British Columbia.

The event was organized by Tim Shears who is now the president of the CBJJF (Canadian Brazillian Jiu-jitsu Federation). The Federations mission is to host events throughout Canada working together with the International BJJ Federation to promote the sport of BJJ and give its competitors more goals than receiving a medal!

The first tournament was a complete success and was the most professional tournaments I have ever attended in Canada.

The tournament had students from all over B.C. as well as other parts of Canada and even some fighters from the U.S.

Special thanx goes out to the event sponsors who were on board who helped promote the event such as:Bushido Martial Arts Supply, Files News Publications, Onthemat, Gracie Magazine,Nandos Flame Grilled Chicken, Rockstar Energy Drink, Jiu-jitsuprogear, Fight Planet and Budovideos.———————————————— TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS:
