I’ve been intrigued by the concept of submission only tournaments, and I truly believe that they represent a pure vision of what Jiu Jitsu is about.   I really want to make sure the experience is ideal for the competitor, as well as the spectators and coaches.   So what I am trying is a Round Robin format for the qualifying rounds with standing based on the number of submissions, and a final with a no time limit submission only match.

1.  We will be giving away TWO LUCKY Gi’s to the tournament participants!  Lucky Gi are the original premium gi company with a mission to be both the most stylish and innovative gis on the market!  And two entries into the Heroes Sub 1 Tournament will each receive a Lucky Gi!  http://myluckygi.com/

2. Want vs Need has announced that Heroes Sub 1 will be a qualifier for their Jiu Jitsu Battle series.  Want vs Need has been making some slick highlight videos and just produced their first pro submission only event the Jiu Jitsu battle.  The Want vs Need crew will be in the house scouting talent for future pro events, and have announced their next event will feature blue belts lightweight and below!  You must prove yourself in qualifying tournaments and Heroes Sub 1 is the first such tournament!  http://wantvsneed.com
