NEW YORK, July 12, 2007 – The International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI), the world’s number one team-based professional mixed martial arts league, will join with Steve Wilkos, host of the upcoming nationally syndicated television show, “The Steve Wilkos Show,” and their mutual partner HeadBlade, for a meet and greet and instructional seminar at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego this coming Monday, July 16, at 11 a.m. PT, it was announced today. The event is one in a series of events IFL athletes and coaches are doing around the world with servicemen and women and is the latest stop in the HeadBlade Steve Wilkos summer Tour.

“This is another in the latest of ways which we can honor our servicemen and women, and work with our partner HeadBlade, along with one of the most recognizable faces in television, Steve Wilkos,” said Gareb Shamus, IFL co-founder and CEO. “It will be an honor for the IFL to be on base at Miramar, and we think the troops will enjoy meeting some of our rising stars, along with the venerable Don Frye and one of the great female instructors and competitors in MMA in Debi Purcell.”

Among the IFL athletes attended and conducting the clinic at Miramar will be a pair of former Marines, Adam Lynn (Pittsburgh) of the Southern California Condors and Brian Foster (Moreno Valley, Calif.) of the San Jose Razorclaws. Foster won his last match on May 19, a TKO over Justin Levens, while Lynn scored a decision win on the same night over Josh Odom. Don Frye, the charismatic Head Coach of the Tucson Scorpions, is one of the most recognizable figures in MMA and a former champion. Debi Purcell, the assistant coach and trainer for the Condors, is undefeated in MMA competition and is the only female assistant for a male professional sports team in the United States. Condors lightweight Danny Suarez (Redondo Beach, Calif.) will also participate.

Steve Wilkos, the highly recognizable former U.S. Marine, Chicago police officer and popular TV veteran, is the host of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution’s upcoming new daily series, “The Steve Wilkos Show” premiering on Sept. 10. With over 14 years of experience in daytime television, Wilkos is now front-and-center in his new nationally syndicated series, sticking up for people and doling out his own version of justice.

Wilkos is thrilled to be working with the IFL and looking forward to stopping at Miramar on his multi-city promotional tour. “I served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 ½ years. The thing about being a Marine is that you develop a great sense of integrity and discipline, and you learn how to get the job done, no matter what. I am really looking forward to visiting my fellow marines, always brothers, at Miramar along with the great guys of the IFL.”

The Miramar event is the latest in a series of activities the IFL is undertaking to honor the military. The IFL is a strategic partner with the USO, and has conducted clinics in the Persian Gulf, aboard ships for Fleet Week and at bases in Everett, Wash., Chicago, and Groton, Conn. Additional activities will be announced in the coming weeks.
