Jeff Glover vs. Caio Terra superfight (grudge match) added to the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo

LONG BEACH, California — The most heated of superfights, that jiu-jitsu fans across the globe have been calling for, has just been added to the inaugural World Jiu-Jitsu Expo. It will be a gi superfight between submission geniuses Jeff Glover and Caio Terra, who are two of the most technical jiu-jitsu players in the world.

What makes this match so interesting, beyond the sheer talent involved, is the fact that there is no love lost between these two superstars. Late last year, they had a heated exchange over Facebook, where the discussion did not involve jiu-jitsu techniques or the latest training methods.

Terra posted a comment after winning the 2011 No-Gi Worlds despite suffering from injuries. Glover showed up on his wall to remind him that he is not the only one who gets hurt in the sport, that he should stop his whining, and that he sounded like a parrot.

Terra responded right away, inexplicably taunting Glover about rarely competing at and winning jiu-jitsu tournaments. Many, including Glover, found that response a bit odd considering that Glover had just medaled at ADCC 2011 about 5 weeks earlier. That would be the most prestigious submission grappling tournament in the world, which Terra ironically did not compete at.

The two are now scheduled to settle their differences on the mat at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 12th, 2012 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. It will be the stage for all things Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

In addition to the heated grudge match between Glover and Terra, there will also be other world-class superfights: Nick Diaz vs. Brauilo Estima, Rafael Lovato Jr. vs. Kayron Gracie, and Kron Gracie vs. Victor Estima.

In what will be an unforgettable Festival of Jiu-Jitsu, gentle art aficionados in attendance will also be able to attend the IBJJF’s first-ever Long Beach Spring International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship, as well as free jiu-jitsu seminars taught by Roger Gracie, Robert Drysdale, Rodrigo Comprido, Andre Galvão, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, Ricardo "Cachorrão" Almeida, and Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu.

The World Jiu-Jitsu Expo will also be the perfect opportunity to network with some of the biggest companies in the business, buy and sell the best BJJ gear on the market at various vendor booths, attend autograph sessions, and engage in Q & A segments with some of the biggest names in Jiu-Jitsu.
