Joao Assis of Checkmat beats Saulo Ribeiro of Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu in a Super Match at Canada’s first ever Grapplers Quest held over Halloween weekend. Joao & Saulo battled for dominance the whole match each waiting for the other to make a mistake so the other could move in for the kill.
After each fighter trying to score points on one another Joao got a beautiful double leg take down in the final 2 minutes to beat Saulo 2-0. This is not Joao’s first big win this year he also beat Saulo’s brother Xande & Jeff Monson earlier this year. Joao is making a name for his self as one of the world’s best grapplers
