Kama Jiu-Jitsu in Dallas

Kama Jiu-Jitsu Dallas is the only campus of Kama Jiu-Jitsu located outside of Orange County, CA. Kama Jiu-Jitsu’s main campus is headed by American Gracie Jiu-Jitsu legend, David Kama, who is Rickson Gracie’s 2nd American Black Belt, and said to be one of the best fighters Rickson has ever produced.

Professor Dave has awarded only three black belts over his 22 years running the Kama Jiu-Jitsu Academy (known until 2012 as Rickson Gracie Academy Laguna Niguel, CA).

Professor Ryan Young, a black belt under David Kama, is the head instructor of Kama Jiu-Jitsu in Dallas, located in Highland Village (North DFW).

At Kama Jiu-Jitsu in Dallas, like we do in our Orange County campus, we pride ourselves in teaching the true Gracie Jiu-Jitsu that focuses on self-defense first and foremost. All of our members learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Self Defense from day one. That focus continues throughout your journey to black belt and beyond with teaching you to protect yourself effectively as our core mission. We cover all aspects of how to effectively protect yourself in a fight; situational awareness, conflict avoidance, dialogue, base and resistance, strikes, closing the distance, the clinch, the takedown, grappling positions, transitions, escapes, and finally, submissions to end the conflict.

Our curriculum and system for teaching have been proven efficient and effective, over and over again.

Kama Jiu-Jitsu is unlike any other BJJ school in Dallas Metroplex. Take one class in our facility, meet the Kama Jiu-Jitsu family, and you’ll be absolutely hooked!

Our students come from all "walks"; professionals, athletes, women, children, people already in shape, people looking to get in shape, people who want a "thinking" sports activity, tall people, short people, heavy people, light people, younger people, and older people (we have always had a large percentage of students over 40).

We have a large, clean, open mat space with plenty of room to train. Our academy is comfortable, and very much a "family" academy, where people come with their children and other family members to train and/or watch. Our members are good, caring people who love to help each other grow and improve in the art.

Kama Jiu-Jitsu Dallas has adult classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 8:30pm-10pm. Both men and women are welcome.

Kama Kids classes are on Saturday afternoons at 1pm. For kids through 8th grade.

Kama Jiu-Jitsu Ladies classes are Wednesday evenings (call for current times). This is a self-defense only class.
