MMA returns to Akron, Ohio for round two of the NAAFS
3/8/06 – Akron, Ohio: The North American Amateur Fight Series (NAAFS) will return to the Buckeye State on March 18th for the second round of its 2006 amateur MMA series. “Ultimate Glory” will showcase twenty of the regions best up and coming amateur fighters competing for one common goal, a national title. Five fighters from the opening round along with over fifteen new NAAFS fighters from across the country will square off in their respective weight classes to earn a possible slot in the year end finals set for this December.
Featured on the card will be the hard hitting Jason Freeman of the Vander Fighting Team in Dover, Ohio against Flat Rock, Michigan’s Andrew Lambrix in the night’s main event. Both fighters come in with accomplished wrestling and boxing backgrounds which should make for a very compelling match up.
In another featured battle, the 3-1 Todd “TNT” Morgan of Zanesville, Ohio faces West Virginia’s Jason Jones (4-2) in a light heavyweight showdown, plus a lightweight clash between Michael Forand of Clarksville, Ohio squares off with Steubenville, Ohio’s Anthony Zrinyi who will look to stay unbeaten.

The remaining four fights are currently being finalized and will be announced the week of the show. Initial 2006 NAAFS rankings are expected to be released after the third series event which is currently slated for mid May. The newly renovated Chapparell’s Community Center in Akron, Ohio will play host to what promises to be a night of memorable mixed martial arts action on Saturday March 18th, 2006.
