Nate Diaz rocking his Lucky Gi on Countdown to UFC 141

In the days leading up to UFC pay-per-view (PPV) events, UFC fans have become accustomed to watching the UFC "Countdown" shows on Spike, which feature the star fighters for each PPV event. To close out Zuffa’s 2011 fight year, the "Countdown to UFC 141" show featured an in-depth look at the two main attractions for UFC 141, Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem and Nate Diaz vs. Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.

While the two heavyweights, former UFC champion Lesnar and former Strikeforce champion Overeem, will be the main event of the evening on Friday, December 30th, many fight fans from northern California to the Rocky Mountains are more intrigued by the co-main event pairing TUF 5 champion Diaz and former WEC star Cerrone.

Televised on Fuel TV for the first time, as part of the UFC’s newly signed 7-year broadcasting agreement with FOX, the "Countdown to UFC 141" show gave all of those looking forward to the similarly explosive striking and submission games of Diaz and Cerrone just enough to hold them over until they finally meet on Friday night.

In a look at what could easily be the "Fight of the Year" on the second to last day of the year, fans also got a look at the contrasting personalities and lifestyles of two of the UFC lightweight division’s most proimising fighters. The no-nonsense and polarizing attitude of Diaz and the good ol’ boy farm lifestyle of Cerrone.

During the segment we also got a good look at their sense of style. While Cerrone is well-known for his trademark cowboy attire, complete with boots and a cowboy hat, Diaz opted to sport an array of Lucky Gis in the lead up to the most important fight of his career. Watch the video above and some photos have also been provided below.
