New Update from Sityodtong

The past few months have been extremely busy for Sityodtong as we prepared Patrick Cote, Marcus Davis and Kenny Florian for important fights. Below you will find recaps of their fights. Sityodtong trained fighters are currently on a six fight winning streak in the UFC.

Patrick Cote Defeats Kendall Grove at UFC 74

Both Cote (yellow shorts) and Grove jockeyed for position during the first few minutes of the opening round, with Grove (10-4) avoiding a takedown at the 1:45 mark.

With a little less than a minute to go in the round, Cote (12-4) countered a knee with a vicious right hand that knocked Grove to the mat. Cote quickly pounced, catching Grove with numerous shots to the head, leading to the knockout.

Marcus Davis Continues His Winning Streakat UFC 75

The bout looked over early in the first round for Marcus (green shorts) after a devastating high kick from Taylor sent Marcus to the mat. Davis with no time to spare quickly held off the attack from the bottom. However, Marcus ended up in another dangerous position against the fence while taking hard shots from Taylor.

Marcus eventually scored a takedown and worked ground and pound from the mount, ultimately catching Taylor’s arm for the armbar. Marcus was awarded ‘fight of the night’ as well as ‘submission of the night.’

Marcus will take his 10 fight win streak to Newcastle, England at UFC 80 on January 19th where he will face Jess Liaudin.

Florian Moves Closer to a Title Shot

In the main event of Ultimate Fight Night 11 Kenny Florian (red shorts) had a first round submission win over Din Thomas at 4:31.

Kenny unleashed Muay Thai kicks early in the fight. Although Thomas had a quick takedown to the mat, Kenny used his razor sharp elbows from the bottom and Thomas was forced to go back to his feet.

As Kenny continued his pressure, Thomas tried for a takedown and missed, allowing Kenny to pound fiercely and repeatedly. Kenny finalized the punishment with his trademark rear naked choke.

Kenny will be releasing a 4 disc DVD instructional series called Kenny Florian’s Ultimate MMA Basics in late November. His next fight should be in February or March.
