* First place at the 2007 Jiu-Jitsu Mundials in the black belt super super heavyweight division after defeating Luiz “Big Mac” Teodoro. * First place at the 2008 Pan-Ams after an epic heavyweight battle against Gracie Barra dynamo Roberto “Tussa” Alencar * Second place at the 2008 Jiu-Jitsu Mundials in the super heavyweight division after defeating the likes of Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu.
Unfortunately Lovato Jr. was injured a week after the 2008 Mundials in a no-gi superfight in Hawaii against Falaniko Vitale, and has been sidelined until now. In this episode we catch up with Lovato Jr. and learn what his competition plans are for 2008!

Kevin co-authored Jiu-Jitsu University with Saulo Ribeiro, has separate books on the way with Andre Galvao and Dave Camarillo, and works on projects like the 2008 Jiu-jitsu World Championships Finals DVD or Cobrinha’s brand new DVDs. In our conversation with Kevin we’ll hear about what it’s like to be involved in well, the projects that the rest of us dream about being involved in. Kevin is a brown belt in jiu-jitsu and trains under Leo Vieira and blogs at Community Jiu-Jitsu.
